Kept the existing home and added a brand-new dwelling to the rear, turning one house into two. The original home has sold; the new one is rented.
Challenge. Add a second dwelling without giving up the income or value already sitting on the block. Outcome. Two dwellings on one lot: the front (existing) home sold and the new rear home tenanted, so the owner kept cash flow across the whole project and brought the build cost down.
